Timnath
Founded in 1882, Timnath is a small agricultural/farming community located southeast of Fort Collins, approximately one-half mile east of I-25 at Harmony Road, on a small bluff east of the Cache la Poudre River. The surrounding farmlands have been used primarily for potatoes, alfalfa, sugar beets, and cattle. Although the town has remained unchanged in recent decades, the growth of Fort Collins to the west and Windsor to the south have placed this charming community in an area considered favorable to development.
The City government has taken a progressive posture in hopes of helping the town maintain its identity as it grows. Several new home neighborhoods surround the town including a new elementary school and an 18-hole golf course community that is home to the Colorado State University golf team.
Education
Timnath schools are a part of the Poudre School district. There are two elementary schools, Timnath Elementary and Bethke Elementary that opened in 2008. Junior High students attend Kinard Core Knowledge Junior High or Preston Junior High and High School students attended Fossil Ridge High School. (http://www.psd.k12.co.us/index.aspx)
